The date for this season’s soccer banquet has been finalized.  After reviewing the feedback on the two proposed dates, May 9^th appears to be the best date by a large margin.  I do apologize that this is being done on Mother’s Day; however, considering all scheduling conflicts this appears to be the best option.  Please mark your calendars.  The date/time is as follows:

• Date:  Sunday, May 9^th
• Time:  6:30pm
• Location:  STA Commons

Coach Lips will be meeting with the team during lunch in the next day or so to provide additional information about the banquet and to discuss the process  for returning uniforms.

GAME INFORMATION - Please come out and support the STA Boys Soccer Team as they take on #4 ranked Ben Franklin in the State Quarterfinal round of playoffs.  The game will be on Saturday (2/13).  Kickoff is at 11:00am.  The game will be played at Pan American Stadium in New Orleans.

PLAYERS AND PARENTS

• NO PRACTICE TODAY - There will be NO practice today (Friday, 2/12) due to the weather.
• PRACTICE TODAY - will be at 4:30pm
• NEW TIME TO BE AT STA - Players need to be at STA tomorrow morning (Saturday, 2/13) at 8:00am.  The coaches will conduct a "walkthrough" with the team prior to leaving for the game.

LHSAA released the playoff brackets at 3:00 pm today.  Our 1st playoff game opponent is Bolton High School.  The details are as follows:

• Date:  Saturday, February 6th
• Time:  2:30 pm kickoff
• Gate Adminision:  $7:00 per person
• Officials:  New Orleans Soccer Association

• Monday (2/1) – Practice at 3:30
• Tuesday (2/2) – Practice at 3:30
• Wednesday (2/3) – Practice at 3:30
• Thursday (2/4) – Practice at 3:30; LHSAA publishes playoff brackets
• Friday (2/5) –  Strength Training and Practice at 3:00
• Saturday (2/6) – Tentatively, our first round playoff game will be on Saturday.  Additional details will be provided later in the week once LHSAA publishes the playoff brackets (brackets are scheduled to be published by LHSAA during the afternoon on Wednesday, Feb 4^th).
• Sunday (2/7) - Team is off

The training and game schedule for this week are as follows:

• Monday (1/25) – District away against Pope John Paul High School.  Game time is 7:00pm.  The team needs to be at STA by 4:30pm.  The bus will depart for Pope John Paul High School in Slidell at 4:45pm sharp.
• Tuesday (1/26) – Practice at 3:30pm at STA
• Wednesday (1/27) – Practice at 3:30pm at STA
• Thursday (1/28) – Practice at 3:30pm at STA
• Friday (1/29) – Strength training and practice beginning at 3:00pm at STA
• Saturday (1/30) –  District home game against Northlake Christian.  Game time is at11:00am.  Players need to be at STA by 9:45am.  Volunteers covering the gate for this game are Darnell Sondes and Kama Lobue.  Gate collections will be from 10:15am to halftime.
